Happy Haunting...

I don't believe in Halloween.

Let me rephrase: I don't believe Halloween should be as big of a deal as it is. I will admit, I enjoy dressing up and playing a character as much as the next person, but that is why I'm in opera. I just don't understand the modern-day point of Halloween or why people invest into the multi-billion dollar industry that pumps out mass quantities of cheesy and poorly-fabricated disguises.

And now I will step down off of my soap box. This weekend was the craziest weekend of my life. Wait, that is an overstatement. This weekend was one of the most hectic and busy of my life. Saturday we hosted this huge collegiate choir festival, and in honor of October being National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the theme was "Sisters Singing for Sisters." It was probably one of the most powerful experiances of my life. Sigrid Johnson conducted over 400 girls from colleges and universities all over the state and we sang some of the most beautiful music ever written! Z. Randall Stroope, and Mendlesson, and others. It was really spectacular!
